Chinese Gov't Releases 2005 Figures of IT Exports

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce recently released some of China's export figures for 2005, and IT products managed a 28.6% share of the country's total export value with US$218.3 billion, growing 31.9% annually. Among these products, notebook PC exports accounted for more than US$30 billion, while mobile phone exports exceeded US$20 billion. Opto-electronics products saw the largest growth in 2005, with a year-on-year increase of 87% in the first 11 months of 2005. The United States, Europe, and Hong Kong are the main destinations for China's IT exports, as these three regions combined account for approximately 70% of export value.
